There are only two Satellite Internet provider in the US: HughesNet and Wild Blue. Both companies provide a similar product, but when it comes to pricing, HughesNet is faster for the same amount of money. The other major difference is that HughesNet has a super duper triple encryption (scrambles your information) that Wild Blue does not. Wild Blue signal has no encryption. For most uses, both services are OK, but if you take your Internet and security a little more seriously, then Hughesnet might be what you need. If you are just emailing and light surfing then Wild Blue will work.

About WildBlue

WildBlue was founded in April 1995. WildBlue launched its Internet service in June 2005. WildBlue’s second satellite, WildBlue-1, was built by Space Systems/Loral and was launched in late 2006. WildBlue’s second satellite, WildBlue-2, is still in the process of being built by Hughes Communications. WildBlue installed its first customer in June of 2005 and currently they now have approximately 50,000 customers in North America. Initial service was offered in many rural areas of the United States. Wild Blue does not currently service the entire USA.
